Graduates of the prestigious CANADIAN MEMORIAL CHIROPRACTIC COLLEGE are required to undertake a 3 year university undergraduate program prior to the 4-year program of study in chiropractic, with a total of 4,518 hours of instructional hours and 1,365 hours of clinical practice (Internship). Awarded a Doctor of Chiropractic (Canada) degree the education emphasis is on the diagnosis, assessment, management and prevention of muscle, joint, nerve and bone conditions including the diseases that can affect any of these structures.

As the only chiropractic college in Canada, CMCC treatments and techniques focus on reducing pain and improving function by identifying and correcting biomechanical flaws. Extensively trained by the Motional Palpation Institute as a student at CMCC Dr Reader is able to locate these biomechanical flaws that occur occurs between joints in which the alignment, movement integrity and/or physiological functioning is disrupted - referred to as a 'chiropractic subluxation' - causing pain and inflammation to nerves and facet joints by chemical insult that results in protective muscles spasms.  When compromised by physiological dys-function the nervous system, housed and protected by the skeletal system, does not function to it's fullest potential affecting the body as a whole, lowering the immune systems response to dis-ease.

Chiropractic treatment provides pain relief and improvement of joint function without surgery or drugs and involves corrective 'adjustments' either manually (by hand) or hand-held instrument (highspeed - low force) to restore normal physiological function; modalities (ice / heat / taping) to reduce pain, exercise / stretches, spinal hygiene and lifestyle changes (diet, stressors, postures) to reduce the recurrence (cause and effect) of these biomechanical flaws and maintain a healthy fully functioning immune system. (Canadian Chiropractic Association, 2015)
